Abstract:
This logo study sets out to explore and become familiar with the creation of digital design objects using popular design software. The logos are an expression of a fictional organisation which offers learning and development solutions to corporate clients, whilst maintaining a continual awareness of the importance of joy, harmony and love in learning. To so many people who have been through a traditional education system, the process was not one of pure expression of themselves, but a gradual realisation that what was being asked was that they compete with another for marks, restate the position of others to be considered bright and intelligent and face the front, ignore all else but the linear teachings of a set curriculum and above all - be quiet!
This study in influenced by the knowledge that learning was not always like this. Learning for small children, toddlers and a rare handful of adults is a joyful expression of natural curiosity. Most people if prompted can remember a time when they learned for fun and time as a result flew by without the resistance they now feel as adults.
These logos were created under this philosophy.

Other potential study topics:
It would be interesting to learn how to create a logo using typeface alone. The creation of a branded font would also be a valuable study, as they can then be limited for usage by the individual designer and organsation alone.
It would also be useful to be able to create the more sophisticated designs such as 3D, bespoke characters and original artworks, as opposed to the usage of shapes and gradients. There is nothing inherently wrong with such designs, as many highly successful organisations use them, however for the purposes of gaining skills using these software programs, it is a desirable skill to have.
Appendix:
Attached please find an example of a possible assessment for this project.
Questions and Answers: (see attached PDF assessment)
Assessing this project would be simply a case of asking for candidates to create original artwork of a period of 4 hours in a classroom or lab setting. Very little needs to be provided to them other than access to the software as they are the creators of all that appears as the final product.
